Project Description:
We recently delivered this 55″ wide x 109″ walnut live edge dining table to clients in the Dallas metroplex. Believe it or not, this table once measured up to 69″ across before the slabs were straight lined & jointed. The walnut top is a bookmatch set from a salvaged Michigan walnut tree that was milled and dried starting in June of 2013. It is another absolutely stunning natural contemporary piece of custom furniture produced by the Refined Elements team. A lot of hard work and heavy lifting went into the production of this table. We have already received commission design projects across a total of 3 bookmatch sets from this same tree.
We enjoyed all the work with the Shaver family. We always enjoy the positive feedback received on our pieces but the Shaver family feedback was so inspirational to us. Quoting our client, “We’ve never seen anything like it!”
Well, we sure hope to change those experiences because our clients immediately asked us to produce a Nakashima influenced coffee table. Our owner, Devin, travels to Japan annually and this news made his week. We continue to strive to produce pieces that would make even George Nakashima or his former apprentice, Sakura, very proud. Another great job, Refined Elements team!!!
